PBS slates “Medical Racism” from Stanley Nelson, Tulsa Massacre doc

American pubcaster PBS is revealing new programming and initiatives during its Winter TCA Press Tour, running today (Feb. 2) through to Feb. 5, including a new documentary from Stanley Nelson and his Firelight Films.

PBS science series ‘Nova,’ a production of WGBH Boston, is collaborating with Nelson (pictured) for the first time on the one-off project Medical Racism (w/t), slated to premiere in late 2022.

The two-hour film will explore racism’s devastating impacts on Black Americans’ health and solutions for an equitable future, connecting today’s stories to a history that includes the Tuskegee syphilis study, the eugenics movement and slavery in the Americas.
