LeBron James, Stanley Nelson team on civil rights doc for History

NBA superstar LeBron James and Emmy Award-winning filmmaker Stanley Nelson are producing an hour-long documentary for History set to examine the transformative battles of the Civil Rights Movement.

Rise Up: The Movement that Changed America will explore such key battles as the Montgomery Bus Boycott of 1955, which said segregated public transportation violated the constitution; and the Chicago Campaign, which led to the Fair Housing Act of 1968 and prohibited discrimination over the sale, rental or financing of housing. Other events include the Birmingham Campaign, which led to the Civil Rights Act of 1964 that then ended segregation in public places and banned employment discrimination; and the Selma Campaign, which led to the Voting Rights Act of 1965, which looked to end legal barriers preventing African Americans from exercising their right to vote.
